Tire Service near Fox Creek
Tires and tire service for drivers from Fox Creek, about 85 km northwest of Whitecourt on Highway 43.
Fox Creek (population 1,639 in the 2021 census) is on Highway 43 about 85 km northwest of Whitecourt by road. The town grew up after Highway 43 opened in 1955, settled by forestry and oil and gas workers.
Highway 43 between Edmonton and Grande Prairie was fully twinned in 2014, so the drive to Whitecourt is divided highway the whole way. It is still about an hour each way, so it pays to plan the trip.
Call ahead with your tire size, so the shop can check what it has in stock or order tires in before you drive down. Ask how long the job will take, so you know whether to wait or leave the vehicle. Around the first snowfall, book early: Whitecourt averages 19 cm of snow in October (Environment Canada 1991–2020 normals), and that's when tire shops are busiest.
Before a winter highway trip, check that your tires carry the mountain and snowflake symbol; see winter tires for what Alberta Transportation recommends. If you've picked up a nail, flat tire repair explains which punctures can be fixed.
