All-Season & All-Weather Tires in Whitecourt
New all-season, all-weather and summer tires for cars, SUVs and crossovers in Whitecourt.
All-season and all-weather tires sound alike but are different. All-weather tires use a softer compound and carry the mountain and snowflake symbol, so Alberta Transportation counts them alongside winter tires for winter driving. Most all-season tires don't carry the symbol and are meant for spring to fall.
All-weather tires can stay on all year, which saves a changeover twice a year. The tradeoff is that a dedicated winter tire still grips better on ice and in deep snow, which matters on rural roads that aren't ploughed first.
Ask the shop which brands it has in your size, and what it can order in.

Common questions
Do all-weather tires count as winter tires?
If they have the three-peak mountain and snowflake symbol, they meet the same snow traction test as winter tires. Alberta Transportation recommends four winter or all-weather tires for severe winter conditions.
